Fenton, Charles Andrews 1919-1960
Charles Andrews Fenton was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1919. As an author and educator, Fenton wrote such volumes as: The Apprenticeship of Ernest Hemmingway: The Early Years (1954); and Stephen Vincent Benet: The Life and Times of an American Man of Letters (1958). He also edited Best Short Stories of World War II (1957); and Stephen Vincent Benet's Selected Letters (1960). He taught English literature at Yale from 1948-1958. Fenton died on July 21, 1960.
