Women's Travel Club (Boston, Mass.)

Patterned after the Harvard Travel Club, the Women's Travel Club was founded in 1935 for women who had taken unusual trips, "no cruises or casual tourists to be included." Its stated purpose was to help other women travelers. At monthly meetings, members give talks about their travels. During WWII the club loaned its travel films, photographs, and maps to the Office of Strategic Services, and since the war it has given travel grants to students.
