Alcorn, John
John Alcorn is a commercial artist, designer, and an illustrator of children's books. He began working as a free-lance artist in 1959. Among the honors he has received are the New York Times Choice of Best Illustrated Children's Books of the Year (1962, 1966), the American Institute of Graphic Arts Fifty Books of the Year (1963), Bologna Children's Book Fair first prize (1968), the Augustus St. Gaudens Medal from Cooper Union (1970).
