Faye, H. (Hervé), 1814-1902.
Astronomer, professor at the Ecole polytechnique, member of the Académie des Sciences and the Bureau des Longitudes, president of the Conseil de l'Observatoire de Paris, Minister of Public Instruction in 1877. He is mostly known for his work on comets and the physical constitution of the Sun.
