Scott, Walter Dill, 1869-1955
Professor of Psychology and President of Northwestern University (1920-1939). Scott's academic training and research interests were advertising and psychological testing. During World War I, he was involved in a project coordinated by the United States Army to test officers and enlisted men for aptitutes and character traits. As NU's president, Scott oversaw the construction of its Chicago Campus to house the Law, Medical, and Business Schools, as well as numerous building projects on the Evanston Campus.
