National Wool Growers Association (U.S.)
The National Wool Growers Association (U.S.) was established in 1865, and was the first national livestock organization in the United States. In 1989, it merged with the American Sheep Producers Council (established in 1955) to form the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI). The National Wool Growers Association (NWGA) was concerned with all aspects of the production, distribution, and marketing of lamb and wool.
