Pendergrast, Mark

Mark Pendergrast was born in Atlanta and is a graduate of Harvard University (BA, 1970) and Simmons College (MLS, 1975). A former teacher and librarian, he is now an independent scholar and author. His books include For God, Country and Coca-Cola: The Definitive History of the Great American Soft Drink and the Company that Makes It (1993, 2000 2d ed); Victims of Memory: Sex Abuse Accusations and Shattered Lives (1995, 1996 2d ed); Uncommon Grounds: The History of Coffee and How It Transformed Our World (1999, 2010 2d ed); Mirror Mirror: A History of the Human Love Affair with Reflection (2003) and Inside the Outbreaks: The Elite Medical Detectives of the Epidemic Intelligence Service.
