Barclay Coal and Mining Company (Springfield, Ill.)
Company headquartered in Springfield, Ill. founded by George N. Black, John Williams and Sam Melvin, with a mine in what eventually became Barclay, Ill. where the company built the first houses, store and hotel. John Williams was president and Black acted as secretary-treasurer of the company.
