Zander, Kurt
Zander was born Johannes Kurt Zander in Stettin (now Szczecin, Poland) in 1860 and studied law. In 1894 he married Gertrud Simon. He was closely involved in the Anatolische Eisenbahngesellschaft (Anatolian Rail Company, now Anadolu Demiryolu Şirketi) during its attempts to build the Baghdad Railway in 1904-1905, and his family kept a house on the Aegean island Prinkipo (now Büyükada, Turkey), during this endeavor. Starting in 1905 he was the second director of Deutsche Bank. Zander died in 1926.
