Committee on Reception of R.W. Emerson (Concord, Mass.)
Committee in Concord, Mass., formed to provide a public welcome for Emerson on his return from abroad in May of 1873. Emerson had gone to Europe and Egypt following the burning of his home in Concord in July of 1872. His home was rebuilt during his absence through the largesse of friends.
