Saussy, Gordon, 1874-1952.
Gordon Saussy (1874-1952) was born in Savannah, Georgia. He attended local public schools and the college of the City of New York. He received his law degree at Cornell University. He was Mayor of Savannah from 1929 until January, 1931, when he resigned the office to run for that of County Ordinary. He held that office until his death. Previous to his election as Mayor he served in the General Assembly of Georgia and was author of the act that created the Savannah Port Authority in 1925.
