Scott, S. W. (Sidney Wilfred), 1900-1970
Sid Scott was a writer, editor, and co-founder of the Communist Party of New Zealand. In 1957, however, he resigned from the Communist Party and in 1961 became a member of the New Zealand Labour Party. Until his death in 1970, Scott produced articles, pamphlets and speeches on aspects of world and national affairs and corresponded with politicial and literary figures. In 1960 his autobiography, Rebel in the wrong cause, was published.
