Gooden, Ernest L., 1903-1970
Ernest L. Gooden (1903-1970) was born in North Carolina. He was a graduate of Duke University and taught high school in North Carolina from 1927 to 1930. He had a 40-year career as a physicist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and specialized in pesticides. He worked in the Pesticide Chemicals Research Laboratories of the Agricultural Research Service. He also served as a consultant for the World Health Organization's program to eliminate malaria. He was also a member of the Electron Microscopy Society of America. Gooden died in 1970.
