Harris, Robert E.G.
Harris was born on April 3, 1903, in Bloomington, IN; AB (1925) and AM (1926), Indiana Univ.; attended Yale Univ. (1926-27) and Univ. of Southern California (1928-29); instructor in English and French, Bucknell Univ. (1925-26); taught English and journalism at Los Angeles City College (1929-42); editor of LA Daily News (1945-50); professor of journalism (1950-71), department chairman (1955-60), and emeritus professor, UCLA; publications include The press in an authoritarian state (1963), and The Spanish press in transition (1966).
