Long, W. L. (William Lunsford), 1890-1964
State representative from Halifax County, N.C., 1915; state senator, 1919-1923 and 1927; president pro tem of the North Carolina Senate, 1921-1923 and 1927; officer of Haile Mines, Inc., of New York, and its subsidiaries, Tungsten Mining Corp. and Manganese, Inc.; and officer of the Tungsten Institute. Haile Mines, Inc., owned subsidiaries that mined tungsten, manganese, copper, zinc, cobalt, lead, silver, gold, and sand in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
