Thomas, Howard, 1909-1986
Presbyterian missionary, educator; born September 11, 1906; attended Stony Brook School (1928-1930) and Wheaton College (1930-1934); married Ruth Hatcher, 1934; received additional degrees from McCormick Theological Seminary and Cornell University; worked in leper colony management and training in southwestern China, 1937-1941, 1946-1947; taught at Cornell University, served as a consultant to his denomination, worked as a communisty development advisor in Laos with the USAID, and taught at Montreat College in Swannanoa, North Carolina; died in 1991.
