The Joseph Moore family of Philadelphia, Pa.; owners of a mojor wire manufacturing business in Philadelphia (1820-1920); sold out of the family (1920) and incorporated as Philadelphia Insulated Wire Co. Joseph Moore (fl. 1840-1870): President, Bank of Northern Liberties (1864-187?). Alfred Fitler Moore (1854-1912): son of Joseph and his successor in the family business; his estate provided funds to establish and endow Moore School of Electrical Engineering, U. of Pennsylvania (1924). William Fitler Moore (d. 1877): son of Joseph and partner of Alfred in the family business. Joseph Moore, Jr. (d 1921): son of Joseph and President, Bank of Northern Liberties. Cecilia Fitler Moore (fl. 1849-1880): wife of Joseph, married in 1849. Alfred Fitler (d. 1896): brother of Cecilia; conveyancer anddirector, City National Bank of Philadelphia (1883-1896).
