Abigail Cobb (Hadlock) (Spurling) Preble, of Cranberry Isles, Me., was daughter of Samuel Hadlock; married 1st: Samuel Spurling; 2nd: William Pitt Preble; first president of Cranberry Isles Mutual Improvement and Benevolent Society (also known as Cranberry Isles Benevolent Sewing Circle, or Ladies Benevolent Society).
