Glidden, Charles J. (Charles Jasper), 1857-1927
Born Aug. 29, 1857 and made a fortune creating a telephone syndicate for New England and other areas. Organized the first round the world automobile tour and in 1905 established the Glidden tour to encourage motoring touring in the U.S. He died Sept. 11, 1927.
