Ladies of the Maccabees
The Maccabees, both men and women, had lodges in most of the small communities in the county and were quite active, primarily in doctoring the ill, providing relief for families in dire straits, and, otherwise, just socializing. Most had some kind of fund-raiser once or twice a year.
From the description of Ladies of the Maccabees papers, 1927-1983. (Public Libraries of Saginaw). WorldCat record id: 123417045
