Marmaduke Swaim Robins, lawyer and teacher in Randolph County, N.C.; private secretary to Governor Zebulon Vance during part of the Civil War, and North Carolina legislator during and after the war; and chairman of the State Senate committee investigating North Carolina railroads, 1867.
