University of Minnesota. President's Ad Hoc Committee on Music and Music Education.
The President's Ad Hoc Committee on Music and Music Education was appointed by President O.M. Wilson in 1965, to study the organization of the Music Dept., its facilities, and its relation with the Minneapolis Symphony. Later, President Wilson appointed a subcommittee to look at adding MacPhail School of Music to the University. The Committee's charge later included proposals for a professional degree program and administration of the University Band and Chorus. In addition, the committee served as a search committee to find a new Music Dept. chair, replacing Paul Oberg.
