Röentgen, Wilhelm Conrad, 1845-1923
German scientist Röentgen discovered the existence and capabilities of x-rays during experiments in 1895. Fundamental contributions are his first articles describing x-rays. For his work, Röentgen won the Nobel Prize in 1901.
