University of Utah. Division of Continuing Education. Office of Lectures and Concerts
The University of Utah's Division of Continuing Education and its predecessor, the University Extension Division, have sponsored artists and speakers for the enjoyment and cultural enrichment of students and nonstudents alike since before 1920, when Professor and first director Frederick Reynolds began bringing out-of-state speakers to campus for assemblies and public lyceums. The list of DCE's attractions over the years undoubtedly includes a good portion of the brightest minds and stars of the century: Marion Anderson, Nelson Eddy, Robert Frost, Marcel Marceau, Yehudi Menuhin, for example--and many, many others.
