Anna T. Jeanes Foundation - Negro Rural School Fund, Inc.
The Anna T. Jeanes Foundation was established by the will of Anna T. Jeanes in 1907 to assist southern rural, community, and country Negro schools and to encourage moral influence and social refinement among Negroes. Supervisors, known as Jeanes workers, carried out assistance to Negro rural schools in the form of educational improvement training programs for Negro students and teachers from 1911 through the 1930s.
