Merchant, judge, postmaster, and collector of customs, of Kennebunk and Lubec, Me. Peter Thacher, son of Stephen Thacher, was lawyer, commissioner of U.S. Circuit Court of Maine, and register in bankruptcy, of Machias and Rockland, Me., and Boston, Mass. Surname sometimes found as Thatcher.
