Minnesota College Personnel Association.
The Minnesota College Personnel Association (MCPA) was chartered in 1969 as a state division of the American College Personnel Association. It was also a division of the Minnesota Personnel and Guidance Association.
The association sought to provide state leadership of college student personnel workers in promoting programs in guidance, counseling, and student personnel practices. It worked for the development and maintenance of professional standards, encouraged research and experimentation, and provided opportunities for the discussion and exchange of ideas among professional college student personnel workers: counselors, academic advisors, admissions officers, campus ministers, career planning professionals, financial aid officers, placement officers, activity directors, health service professionals, higher education faculty, graduate students, student affairs deans, and others. Members included staff from University of Minnesota campuses, state universities, community colleges, private colleges, and vocational schools and technical colleges.
