Scales, John, 1835-1928
Lucien Thompson was born in Durham, NH in 1859. He became a very successful farmer in Durham and was elected to the Board of Trustess of the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts in July of 1892. Thompson also served as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees from 1896 to 1914 at which time he resigned. The College was founded in Hanover, NH in 1866 and relocated to Durham, NH in 1893. It then became the University of New Hampshire in 1923.
