Henderson, O. V., 1870-1951.
Oren V. "Dad" Henderson moved from Kansas with his family to work at the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts in 1915. He started as the Business Secretary for the College and also as the Purchasing Agent for the Experiment Station. In 1920 he was promoted to Executive Secretary and from 1925 to 1939, he was the Registrar. The College became the University of New Hampshire in 1923. Henderson also served the community on the Durham Board of Selectmen, in the New Hampshire House of Representatives and on the Governor's Council along with numerous committees and commissions. During his political career he was the principal promoter of the construction of the Sullivan and Scammell Bridges across the Piscataqua River.
