Virginia. State Board of Commissioners of Excise.
The State Board of Commissioners of Excise was created by an act passed by the General Assembly on 25 February 1890. The board consisted of the treasurer, the second auditor, and the auditor of public accounts. Its purpose was to regulate the licensing of persons involved in the sale of ardent spirits. On 7 February 1894 the General Assembly abolished the board.
