Seddon family.
James Alexander Seddon (1815-1880) was a successful Richmond, Va., lawyer, U.S. Congressman and Confederate Secretary of War. With the fall of Richmond, he was imprisoned, along with other Confederate officials, from May until November 1865. After the war he retired to his estate, "Sabot Hill," Goochland County, Va., where he resided until the end of his life.
