Syme, Geoffrey Sir, 1873-1942.
Son of David Syme and one of the proprietors of The Age newspaper, Sir Geoffrey Syme was the first editor of the weekly Every Saturday, the forerunner of The Age literary supplement from 1902 to 1908. In 1908 he became managing editor of The Age and The Leader.
