Cook, Ian H.
Doctor, medical missionary; born Ian Harper Cook in Glasgow, Scotland, 1933; traveled to the United States and studied at Wheaton College, 1951-1955; married Ruth Witmer in 1957 and had three sons; graduated from Indiana University Medical School, 1960; worked in Natal, South Africa with the Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) among the Zulu people, 1964-1969; resigned from TEAM, 1969; worked and studied at the University of Cape Town's Groote Schuur Hospital, 1971-1976; returned to Fort Wayne, IN where he joined a medical practice, 1976. Ruth Witmer was born in 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana; completed nursing program at West Suburban Hospital in 1953 and concluded her education with two years of liberal arts study at Wheaton College, graduating with a Bachelor's of Nursing degree, 1955.
