Strickland, Harold H., 1903-1981.

Harold Strickland entered the Army Aviation Cadet Program in 1924 but soon transferred to the Army meteorology division. He left the Army four years later, received his pilot's license in 1932, and became a commercial pilot and instructor. In 1941, Strickland volunteered for the Royal Air Force and joined one of the Eagle Squadron's a few months later. He transferred to the United States Army Air Force (USAAF) in 1942 and continued to fly throughout the war. He returned to the United States to attend the USAAF Air Intelligence School in 1943 and later returned to England as an intelligence officer. In 1946, Major Strickland joined the Reserves, wrote a children's book entitled "Juggernaught of the Rangers," and started working as an intelligence research officer with the Air Force. He later joined the Defense Intelligence Agency and retired from there in 1965. Harold Strickland died of a heart attack in 1981.
