George Embree, John Murray, Jr. and Thomas Eddy were N.Y. Quakers, directed by the Meeting for Suffering and the Committee on Indian Affairs of the Yearly Meeting of New York to undertake a journey to visit various Indian tribes on the frontier of New York.
