Champfleury, 1821-1889
Champfleury (pseudonym for Jules François Félix Husson-Fleury) was a self-educated critic and art historian, as well as a prolific author of fiction. He was the first to acknowledge the esthetic term of "realism", and also a pioneer in the history of caricature and popular prints. In 1872 he was nominated curator of the Sèvres museum for life.
