Campbell, Allan, 1876-1939

Son of Walter Scott, and Annie (Fenton) Campbell. Born in Detroit, Oct. 12, 1876; married, Nov. 20, 1908, Elizabeth Barton Pitman. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1898, and from the Detroit College of Law in 1901. Campbell taught history, was an instructor and dean of the Detroit College of Law. In 1904 he joined the firm of Mabury, Lucking, and Emmons, and Helfman, in the following year opened his own office. In 1908 he joined Fred G. Dewey, and in 1919 the firm Campbell, Dewey, Stanton and Bushnell. In 1936 his portrait was done by David Friedenthal for the School of Law of Wayne University, the successor of the Detroit College of Law. From 1921-1927 he was a member of the Board of Education. He died on May 16, 1939.
