Batts, William M., d. 1862.
William M. Batts, Confederate soldier, died 9 August 1862, at Cedar Run, Virginia. He served as a private with Company A, 12th Georgia Infantry ("Muckalee Guards" from Sumter County, Georgia). He was wounded in the leg May 1862, hospitalized at Staunton Hospital, Virginia, and was killed the following August.
