Clark State Community College
In September 1962, the Springfield and Clark County Post-High School Technical Program first began classes. In February 1966, the program became the Clark County Technical Institute, the first technical institute chartered by the Ohio Board of Regents. The name was changed to Clark Technical College in 1972, and changed again in 1988 to Clark State Community College. Richard O. Brinkman was the founder and director of the program, and he became the first president. Clark State Community College is now under its fourth president.
