Child Welfare Administrators of New Orleans.

The Child Welfare Administrators of New Orleans, originally named the Child Welfare Executives of New Orleans, was formed to study and advocate for the practical needs of local children and youth. The members were interested in medical care including mental health resources and free dental services, adoption and foster homes, day care, and especially racial issues. Over time, the focus broadened to include the children of the nation and world. Although non-denominational, the organization often met in various churches and synogogues. The 1975 regional conference of the CWLA met in the Fairmont Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, May 28-30, 1975; its theme was "Children: An Endangered Species."
