Teche Lines, Inc.
The original name of this common carrier company was Teche Transfer Company, Inc., operating out of Jeanerette and Franklin, Louisiana. After July 1930, the name was changed to Teche Lines, Inc., and the records were kept in New Orleans. Mr. Feight was company president throughout these years until the consolidation of the bus line into Greyhound Lines in 1932. Teche Lines was the first bus company to use the system of paying a certain number of mills per mile to tire companies instead of buying tires.
