Whitaker, Clem (Clement Sherman), 1922-
Son of pioneer political public relations specialist Clem Whitaker, Sr., Clem Whitaker, Jr. worked with his father in Campaigns, Inc. and Whitaker & Baxter, Inc. beginning in 1946, later becoming a partner. In 1958 he became president of the firm, headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Washington, D.C. He directed election campaigns for state and national candidates and subsequently concentrated on ballot measure campaigns and public policy issues.
