Craig, Thomas, 1855-1900
Thomas Craig, a mathematician, was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lafayette College with the degree of civil engineer in 1875. He studied under Prof. James Joseph Sylvester at Johns Hopkins University, and later became a professor of mathematics there. He was chief editor of the AMERICAN JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS (1894-1899), and contributed to the BULLETIN OF THE AMERICAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY. His published works include A TREATISE ON PROJECTIONS, ELEMENTS OF THE MATHEMATICAL THEORY OF FLUID MOTION, and A TREATISE ON LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS.
