American society of planning officials
The American Society of Planning Officials (ASPO) was founded in 1934. It was a national private organization whose members engaged in city, country, and regional planning. The state organizations had as its members official state agencies. ASPO served as a clearinghouse of planning information for its members throughout the U.S. and abroad. In 1978, ASPO merged with the American Institute of Planners to become the American Planning Association.
