De Banke, Cecile.
English actress, writer, and educator, de Banke left England in 1916 to join a repertory company in South Africa. She remained for 14 years teaching elocution and dramatics. In 1929 she went to the U.S. to teach at Wellesley College where she remained until her retirement in 1955.
