For over thirty-two years (1966-1998) Jeanette Wakin taught at Columbia University. Among the courses she taught were Islamic Law, The Qu'ran and its Interpretation, Sexual Ethics and the Family in Islamic Law, Seminars on Islamic legal texts, and Islamic Civilization.
