Pearson, Raymond A. (Raymond Allen), 1873-1939

Raymond A. Pearson was a graduate of Cornell University in dairy industry (1894), and after working in commercial dairying, returned to Cornell to establish a Department of Dairy Industry. After heading the New York Department of Agriculture, Pearson was named as President of Iowa State College (University) (1912-1926). During his time at Iowa State, he focused on promoting the graduate program, extension and athletics. Pearson resigned to become the President of the University of Maryland (1926-1935).
