Jeanniot, Pierre-Georges, 1848-1934

Painter of portraits and genre scenes, also an esteemed designer and book illustrator born in Geneva. He was a disciple of his father, Pierre-Alexandre, the director of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Dijon. An army officer, he resigned in 1881 and started exhibiting his works regularly at the Salon in Paris. He wrote this text at the age of 77.
