Little, E. H., 1881-1981.
Mr. Little was born near Huntersville, NC, in Mecklenburg Co. In 1902 he began work for Colgate and Co. and became a district manager in Memphis, TN. In 1914, Mr. Little became a salesman for the B.J. Johnson Soap Co., which later became the Palmolive Company. After Palmolive merged with Colgate, Mr. Little was in charge of foreign sales. He became vice-president (1933), president (1938), and chairman of the board (1953) of Colgate Palmolive, retiring in 1960. After retirement, Mr. Little devoted his time to philanthropy. Major benefactions went to Davidson College, University of the South at Sewanee, Queens College and Southwestern at Memphis.
