Smith, P. J. (Phillip James), 1897-1921.
A blacksmith from Middle Brighton, Vic., Smith enlisted on 16 February 1915 and served as a Private in the 23rd Battalion. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on 11 May 1918, awarded the Distinguished Service Order, and was repatriated to Australia on 8 April 1919.
